adidas has partnered with thenewsmarket to bring you a one-of-a-kind multimedia news site. You can stay up to date as it happens with key news releases for events, products, and all things adidas. Connect with interest-specific live RSS feeds and social networks and take advantage of free, high quality multimedia content for download.

For desktop and tablet devices: a country selector can be found at the top of every page. Simply select the desired country from the menu to access that country’s NEWS STREAM.

For mobile devices: select the cog icon shown at the top of the screen.

Multimedia content can be found in any story/news release. Additional content can be found in the section named “Images and Videos”.

When the All Media Panel showcases any piece of content, you are also presented a number of options.

  1. “Download”: click on this option to directly download any multimedia file
  2. “More Info”: clicking on this option allows you to see more details on the asset being viewed.
  3. “Share”: various sharing options are shown that allow you to embed, email, or retrieve a direct link to any content being viewed. You also share the content being viewed through your favorite social networking and bookmarking sites.

RSS feeds deliver you real-time information on the topics you are interested in. With the adidas NEWS STREAM site, the RSS feeds will provide you with late breaking stories and brand new content for the topics and sections on the site. The adidas NEWS STREAM site has various RSS feeds, allowing you to choose the topics that you would like to subscribe to.

To subscribe to an RSS feed, you can copy the feed URL to the RSS client of your choice. Alternatively, you can click the XML button to access the XML directly for ingestion to most other newsreaders or "aggregators".

Click on the asset you would like to download.

This will open the All Media Panel, which will feature the selected content:

Click on the "Download" button.

You will be shown a layer named “Download”. On this screen, click on the format you would like to download.

On most browsers and operating systems Flash is not required. Where HTML 5 is not supported Adobe Flash is required for the adidas NEWS STREAM to function correctly. If you are accessing the site from a browser or operating system that does not support HTML 5 and you don’t have Flash installed, you will see the following button:

Click on he button above to install Flash. You will be taken to Adobe’s website, where you can follow the steps to install the plugin.

Most videos assets available on the site can be downloaded in broadcast quality. See the previous question for instruction on how to download an asset.

Thenewsmarket Download Queue organizes all the files you download from any site powered by thenewsmarket. For every download, you will be shown the asset title, file name and size, the source domain, and the date.

The Download Queue will keep a history of your downloads until you click “CLEAR COMPLETE” or until you remove assets individually by clicking on the button illustrated below:

The Queue Manager plugin enhances the Download Queue (described in the previous question) by adding in a number of additional controls. Key features include:

  • Pausing resuming downloads – downloads can even be continued in cases where an internet connection is lost and restored. You can also prioritize bandwidth for a download by pausing other downloads that are running at the same time.   • The Queue Manager displays the time remaining before completion as well as download transfer rates.
  • The Queue Manager will keep a history of your downloads until you click “CLEAR COMPLETE” as described below

To download the Queue Manager:

  • Click “DOWNLOAD NOW” in the Download Queue’s footer:
  • Once the file is downloaded, double click on the file. You will then be taken through the Queue Manager install process as described below.

How do I install the Queue Manager plug-in? Select your browser / operating system combination from the list below for help on how to install the Queue Manager plug-in.

Installation on Internet Explorer / Windows:
  1. After clicking the link to install the Queue Manager plug-in, you will see this dialogue window:

  2. After clicking "Save", the Internet Explorer download window will appear. Once the file is completely downloaded, click “Run”.

  3. You will be prompted to confirm if you want to install the program. Click “Yes”.

  4. Follow the on-screen directions from the installer. When installation completes, the enhanced Download Queue will open in your browser window and your first file will start downloading.

Installation on Firefox / Windows
  1. After clicking the link to install the Queue Manager plug-in, you will see the following dialogue window:

  2. After clicking "Save File", the Firefox Downloads window will appear. Once the file is completely downloaded, double-click it to start the Installer.
  3. Clicking "Run" will begin the installation process.

  4. You will be prompted to confirm if you want to install the program. Click “Yes”.

  5. Follow the on-screen directions from the installer to complete installation. When installation completes, the enhanced Download Queue will open in your browser window and your first file will start downloading.

Installation on Chrome / Windows
  1. After clicking the link to install the Queue Manager plug-in, this message will appear at the bottom left corner of your window.

  2. After clicking "Save", the file will download. Once it has completed, you'll see the file ready for you to access. Click on the name of the file to begin the installation."

  3. In the next dialog window, click "Run" to begin the install process.

  4. You will be prompted to confirm if you want to install the program. Click “Yes”.

  5. Follow the on-screen directions from the installer to complete installation. When installation completes, the enhanced Download Queue will open in your browser window and your first file will start downloading.

Installation on Safari / Windows

Installation on Firefox / Mac OSX
  1. After clicking the link to install the Queue Manager plug-in, you will see the dialogue window shown below. Click “Save File”.

  2. After selecting "Save File", the Firefox Downloads window will appear:

  3. Once the file is completely downloaded, double-click it to open the Installer package

  4. Double-click the file to start the Installer and click “Install” on the first dialog window.

  5. When installation completes, the enhanced Download Queue will open in your browser window and your first file will start downloading.

Installation on Chrome / Mac OSX
  1. After clicking the link to install the Queue Manager plug-in, the following dialog window will appear at the bottom left corner of your window. Click “Save”.

  2. Once the file has completed, click on the name of the downloaded file at the bottom of the screen to open it.

  3. In the package, double click in the installer:

Troubleshooting
You will know that the Queue Manager plug-in has installed correctly when you are prompted for a location to save the file you originally wanted to download. If this does not happen, do the following:
  • Navigate back to the desired file in your browser and download the file again.
  • Leave the browser window open until the download successfully completes.
  • If the download fails a second time, contact us for help.
Try the following:
  • Uninstall the Queue Manager plug-in
  • Delete the Resume Download shortcut from the desktop (if present)
  • Navigate to the folder where you saved the application's files and delete any temporary files ending in ".part".
  • Go back and again click to download your desired media file.
  • Go through the steps to reinstall the Queue Manager plug-in.
  • Leave the Download Queue window open until the download successfully completes

Uninstalling the Queue Manager plug-in?
  • Windows XP: Click on the “Start” menu > Control Panel > “Add Or Remove Programs”. Select "Akamai NetSession Interface" and click “Remove”.
  • Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8: Click on the “Start” menu > Control Panel > Programs > Programs And Features. Select "Akamai NetSession Interface" and click “Uninstall”.
  • Mac OS: Drag the Queue Manager plug-in from the Applications folder to the Trash
Using the Queue Manager plugin
  • A number of new buttons will be shown on the download window, each of which are described below.
  • “PAUSE ALL”: Use this option to pause all active downloads
  • “RESUME ALL”: This feature resumes all paused downloads.
  • “CLEAR COMPLETE”: this option remove all completed or cancelled downloads from this list. Note, however, that this does not delete the clips from your computer.
  • Opening a file: when a download for any file completes, double-click on it to open the file
  • Pausing a download: you can pause an individual download that is currently being downloaded by clicking the button illustrated below. Pausing a download allows you to give priority and bandwidth to other downloads so they can complete sooner.
  • Canceling a download: this feature allows you to interrupt and cancel downloading for a specific file

The Media Cart is a feature that allows you to save a collection of assets that can be viewed, shared, or downloaded at a later time.

On desktops: hover over any asset, and the Media Cart option will appear on the far right side as shown below:

On tablets and mobile devices: the option to add content to Media Cart appears alongside assets

When viewing any story, you also have the option to add all of its assets to the Media Cart at once:

On desktops and tablets: click on the “Media Cart” link at the top of the page:

On mobile devices: click on the image of the cog at the top of the page:

Then select the option for “Media Cart”:

From the Media Cart page, you can perform any of the following:

  • Download all assets at once
  • Download assets individually
  • Remove assets from the Media Cart
  • Email the Media Cart’s content as a list to any recipient
  1. To download all assets at once, click “Download All”
  2. To download assets individually, click on an asset’s download button as you would on any other page
  3. To remove all assets from the Media Cart, click on the option to “Remove all from Media Cart”
  4. To remove any asset individually, click on the option represented with the trash bin as illustrated below. On desktops, this option will appear when you hover over an asset within the Media Cart page. For tablets and mobile devices, this option will be shown alongside the asset

  5. To email the contents of the Media Cart, click on the option reading “Send Media Cart”.

Enter the email addresses for recipients and an “Access Code” to password-protect the Media Cart being sent if desired (recipients will be required to enter in the passcode to view the Media Cart). Recipients will then be sent a link to a copy of the Media Cart you have created (users will never be able to access your Media Cart directly).
