Two of adidas’ major champions – who have each finished runner-up at The Open Championship – will be ‘Geared For More’ as they seek the second major of their careers.
Dustin Johnson – the world’s top player – is looking to better his tie for second place at the 2011 Open Championship. With three wins already this season, DJ will be wearing the 3-Stripes mapped polo, gradient heather jersey polo and club wool blend polo paired with the ultimate 365 3-Stripes pant during the Championship. Light greys and blacks with a pop of blue will match the often-cloudy weather found at Royal Birkdale. To help DJ brave the elements, he’ll have the adidas 3-Stripes crewneck sweater, climaheat™ primaloft full-zip jacket and vest. He’ll look no further than the TOUR360 BOOST for stability in his swing as he bombs drives down the fairway.
“The colours within this collection work really beautifully with the Northwestern English coastline, with shadowy blues and crisp, cool greys,” said Davide Mattucci, global product director, adidas Golf. “We design apparel that performs in every condition, but looked to strike a nice balance between our colour palette and the history of the oldest of the four majors.”
The reigning Masters champion has 10 top 10 finishes in his career at The Open and he looks to add another major to his resume. Subtle grays and blues will be accented by bold prints as he wears the climachill™ pixel print and heather block competition polos paired with the ultimate 365 3-Stripes pant. Sergio will keep his body warm and loose in the competition with classic 3-Stripes 1/4 zip pullovers and the climaheat™ primaloft full-zip vest. He’ll rely on the durability and lightweight comfort of the Powerband BOA® BOOST to get him around the course.
