Sweden’s national team reveals new jersey in the light of deciding playoff game against Denmark 2
In light of the upcoming playoff game against neighbouring country and eternal rival Denmark, adidas and SvFF launch what may become the nation's official Euro 2016 jersey. The new national team jersey, featured on Ibrahimovic, Ekdal and Zengin, is described by the national team captain Zlatan Ibrahimovic as "powerful and different"; qualities that he hopes will lead to success in the upcoming playoffs.

The inspiration behind the new design comes from the adidas jerseys that the Swedish national team played in during the early 90s, something that can clearly be seen in the jerseys minimalistic and classic design.

"What we have taken into consideration during the design process is the pride that the players feel when they pull the national team jersey over their heads, but above all their willingness to give everything for the shirt and the nations colours. Due to the minimalistic design the national team shield is given space to symbolize that pride. Both the players and we are extremely satisfied with the final result and now look forward to creating many memorable footballing moments", says Ninos Icho, Brand Communications Manager at adidas.

The new national team jersey is yellow and features three iconic adidas stripes in blue along the side of the body. Special for this year's jersey is the horizontal stripes in two discretely shifting shades of yellow that run along the front of the jersey. The neck has been kept round with blue details and "SWEDEN" embroidered in the back. The classic cut and pared-down design contributes to making the national team shield stand out on the jerseys chest. A pair of blue shorts with yellow stripes along the sides and the shield on the right thigh complements the jersey together with a pair of yellow socks.

The new national team jersey is the third of its kind since adidas' entry as the official shirt supplier to the national team in 2013. The first out of two deciding playoff games against Denmark, on November 14 at Friends Arena, will be the first time the team wears the new jersey in a competitive game.

The official jersey will be sold in selected Intersport stores and at www.adidas.se starting November 6.
