UCLA & adidas Unveil New Primeknit Home Uniforms
Paying homage to the UCLA tradition of grit and toughness, the new home uniforms were crafted with speed and valiance in mind. Developed in collaboration with the coaching staff, and influenced by the fans' love for past alternative uniforms, the new design is centered around a modernized version of the traditional UCLA stripe on the jersey.
Providing players with innovation to accelerate and style to shine, the 2015-16 home uniforms feature laser cut, gold metallic numbers for more breathability, along with a custom 'Bruin Bold' font, which was designed exclusively for UCLA and inspired by the bright lights of Los Angeles.
The uniforms also include a tribute to the team's commitment to the #BruinRevolution and football culture in Los Angeles. Each time a player puts on a jersey, he will read the phrase "Champions Made Here" written across the ribbing of the collar.
Made with a cutting-edge, proprietary yarn blend that increases durability and abrasion resistance, Primeknit is the newest generation of the adidas TECHFIT football uniform system. Primeknit helps keep players cool and increases range of motion, giving athletes an unrivaled level of comfort and allowing them to perform at their highest levels. The jersey's redesigned padlock system improves tension over the shoulder pads, while the bodymap fit adheres to the player, making it difficult for opponents to grab, hold or tackle.
Rounding out the home uniforms are the adizero 5-Star 4.0 cleats, lighter than any competitor cleat at 8.0 ounces and constructed with a lightweight SPRINTSKIN upper featuring SHOCKWEB reinforcement, along with the adizero 5-Star 4.0 gloves, featuring the UCLA script logo and 4-way stretch mesh and SHOCKWEB for durability.
