Today, adidas Basketball unveils new colorways of the Jabbar OG Collection – a continuation of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s signature franchise. The Jabbar franchise was originally launched in 1978, making history as the first basketball sneaker to feature an athlete's face, highlighting Jabbar’s influence beyond the court.
UNDFTD, known for its deep roots in streetwear and sneaker culture, will lead storytelling on this pack by bridging basketball heritage and fashion.
The new launch stays true to the original design, celebrating Jabbar's legacy with key design features including:
- Smooth Leather Tongue and Upper: Premium smooth leather covers the tongue and upper, providing a sleek and timeless appearance.
- Suede Toe Cap: A suede toe cap adds texture and a refined contrast to the smooth leather, ensuring both durability and a distinctive look.
- Gold Foil Logos: Gold foil logos on the tongue and heel elevate the classic design, paying homage to Jabbar’s legendary career.
- Soft Leather Collar and Lining: The soft leather collar and lining enhance comfort, delivering a luxurious feel with every wear.
- Cream White Midsole: A cream white midsole complements the vintage-inspired design, balancing the modern and retro elements.
- Eyestay Treatment for Vintage Effect: The eyestay treatment gives the shoes a vintage look, reinforcing the collection’s nod to heritage.
- Tumbled Leather 3-Stripes: Signature adidas branding is represented with tumbled leather 3-Stripes, adding texture and distinction to the sides.
The Jabbar OG is also available in Royal Blue. The new colorways from the Jabbar OG Collection will be available exclusively at UNDFTD beginning November 6, prior to releasing globally on November 15, 2024.
