MANCHESTER UNITED 2021/22 AWAY JERSEY, INSPIRED BY ICONIC DESIGN OF ‘92

  • 30-JUL-2021

adidas and Manchester United today present the new 2021/22 season away jersey, drawing inspiration from the collective memory and DNA of the club through a new and modern expression.

Bringing structure to a light-coloured kit, Cloud White and Glory Blue come together as part of an optical art pattern engineered into the fabric, taking inspiration from the iconic snowflake design of the club’s 1992 shirt. Providing contrast, pops of Solar Red colour feature in the club crest, 3-stripes and sponsor logos.

The kit is complemented by Glory Blue shorts in a nod to the striking blue away jersey of 1968 that the European Cup-winning team wore in the final, whilst the socks also feature the blue and white optical art pattern.

The new jersey is made with PRIMEGREEN, a series of high-performance recycled materials, putting sustainability at the heart of the innovation. It features the latest in adidas’ temperature regulation, HEAT.RDY – KEEP COOL, which is designed to keep players feeling cool, dry, and confident during play. The replica shirt offers similar benefits thanks to the inclusion of AEROREADY – FEEL READY technology, keeping fans comfortable and ready as it absorbs moisture for a dry feeling.

The jersey launches with an animated film, celebrating Manchester United’s unrivalled tradition of developing young players. Britain’s best loved performance poet and life-long fan, Dr John Cooper Clarke, voices the ode to Manchester and the joy and potential of youth, set against an animated graphic collage of home-grown stars from the infamous class of ‘92 alongside those from the current generation.

The new away jersey will be available to purchase from today via adidas.com/football, selected adidas stores and the Manchester United club and online store, as well as selected retailers and fashion stores from 6th August.
