From prodigy to professional, barriers have never been a problem for Charlyn Corral. As a shy schoolgirl she dreamed of playing football at the highest level. By the age of 14 she was the striker in Mexico's Under 20 team and top scorer for the Under 20s at the CONCACAF Women's U20 Championship. From there she went on to play in Spain, for Levante where she won the Golden Boot in 2017/18 with 24 goals, and then for the mighty Atletico Madrid. As a regular in the full national team, she has scored 29 goals in 53 games. Some had seen a quiet Mexican girl but Charlyn had seen possibilities - possibilities she has made real for herself and for many others to follow in her footsteps.
